CHALLENGE
The goal was to capture the classic American Birthday party in a 1.05 by 0.77-inch space.

OBJECTIVE
Embody the spirit and fun of a birthday party. We explored how best to visualize all the physical elements from presents, decoration, and a cake! We envisioned analog solutions with cut paper sculptures and 3D digital models of these classic elements of American birthday parties.

RESULT
The Birthday stamp was a challenging concept for sure. We delivered a fun and unique design and completed production within a few rounds of ideation. With over 13.7 billion U.S. postage stamps printed in 2020 and $736.1 million in stamps and stamp product orders, the birthday stamp adds to the growing sales of U.S. postal products and services.
